In May, the Board passed a Charter for the Central Complex Committee to “focus on developing and describing “different and doable” alternatives for the OVA central area. The Committee was not responsible for initiating any detailed design nor any construction work.

The Central Complex Committee met in June to organize existing data with an eye toward applying for a free national community building program offered by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) known as SDAT (Sustainable Design Assessment Team). Meetings with the AIA were on-going throughout the rest of the year but in February, 2022 COVID restrictions made the AIA process impossible to continue.
Instead, the CCC adopted a model to work with the community to create a vision of Oakmont in the future, forming Oakmont 2030. A 48-page rough draft of the AIA application was prepared which provided detailed information about Oakmont, that was presented to the OVA Board in 2021.
