Although several Committees and Task Forces have spent considerable time&nbsp;to find&nbsp;solutions to deficiencies, little forward progress has been made. Here are their reports and recommendations:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/eyes-on-the-berger-2013-2018-2013-15-central-project-detail-design-team\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/eyes-on-the-berger-2013-2018-2017-berger-action-committee-bac\/\">2013 &#8211; 15&nbsp;Central Project Detail Design Team&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/eyes-on-the-berger-2013-2018-2014-15-berger-improvement-committee-bic\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/eyes-on-the-berger-2013-2018-2014-15-berger-improvement-committee-bic\/\">Berger Improvement Committee, 2015&nbsp;(BIC)&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/eyes-on-the-berger-2013-2018-2016-central-project-committee-cpc\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/eyes-on-the-berger-2013-2018-2016-central-project-committee-cpc\/\">Central Planning Committee (CPC)&nbsp;report<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/eyes-on-the-berger-2013-2018-2017-berger-action-committee-bac\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/eyes-on-the-berger-2013-2018-2017-berger-action-committee-bac\/\">Berger Action Committee&nbsp;(BAC)&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The most recent&nbsp;of these efforts&nbsp;began in&nbsp;2017, the&nbsp;BAC&nbsp;studied the existing floor plan of the Berger and explored three options for a future Berger Center:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Renovate the existing structure;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Remove the existing structure and build a new center of the same or larger size at the same or another location;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Repurpose the existing structure and build a new center of the same or larger size at another location.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The report was presented to the Board in February of 2018 and included a summary of the costs, a construction&nbsp;budget&nbsp;and an estimated payment for various loan amounts to pay for the project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In April, the BAC presented specifications and most plans for the&nbsp;<strong>East Recreation Center renovation&nbsp;<\/strong>to OVA Board&nbsp;recommending that the efforts in the Central area be deferred&nbsp;with the exception of&nbsp;work on the&nbsp;Berger Center seismic<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>assessment and remediation (completed in 2019).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Final-Report-presented-2-06-2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BAC Final Report and Financial Analysis<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Multiple committees have developed recommendations for improving the Berger Center and dealing with Central Complex deficiencies.
