{"id":138763,"date":"2026-03-24T10:34:37","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T17:34:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/?p=138763"},"modified":"2026-03-24T10:34:41","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T17:34:41","slug":"the-cac-remodel-2004-2009-2007-central-design-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/article\/the-cac-remodel-2004-2009-2007-central-design-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"The CAC Remodel (2004-2009)\u00a0: 2007 Central Design Committee\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">Not all stakeholders supported the originally envisioned concept, and in early 2007 a newly formed \u201cCentral Design Committee\u201d recommended moving forward with a \u201csignificantly smaller Central Project.\u201d This reduced design was\u00a0finalized\u00a0in mid-2007 (to what is\u00a0essentially the\u00a0configuration of the current Central Activity Center).\u00a0The final accepted plan\u00a0greatly improved\u00a0upon the original buildings, adding a central lobby, limited access, defined space for the library, cards,\u00a0crafts\u00a0and fitness.\u00a0Although it added\u00a0roughly\u00a05000\u00a0ft<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0the OVA Administrative offices and an exercise room were omitted.\u00a0Construction for the CAC\u00a0commenced\u00a0in mid-2008 and was completed about a year later, in 2009.\u00a0A loan for $3 million (in 2008 dollars)\u00a0and funds from impact fees and both\u00a0lump-sum\u00a0and dues-based member contributions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/oakmontvillage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Oakmont-CAC-2007.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Current CAC Floorplan Drawings<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OVA initiated a large project in 2004 to remodel the CAC to provide additional space, address security issues and establish association-owned space for the OVA offices.
